A new adventure is beginning with a platform to work with many people at my site who want to embrace an adapted version of throwing out the traditional gradebook and I'm excited.
My administration provided my coteachers and I the opportunity to host professional development for our entire staff to explain our system of formative and summative assessment outlined in my previous blog posts and how this is aligned with our evaluation tool, common core standards and growth mind set.
Now they are affording us the opportunity to host discussions that act as action steps towards progress on the evaluation tool and to work with interested staff- at their choosing- to implement summative based grading relative to common core standards! I'm happy to have a new project and am looking forward to working with my staff this way.
